same thing here. hubby and i had decided we were prob still going.
( hubby shocked me saying that) but our 10 year old told me yesterday as he hugged me close that he didn't want us to die or be blown up. and given that he'd said the same thing to my mum earlier that day
( she'd stayed the nite and mentioned it to me when i was driving her home) we figured he would spend the week with us away worrying and stressing. apart from the fact we'd be a little nervous. The thought of him at home scared everyday that we'd be hurt was not something i could do to him.
however!!! there is light. hoping tomorrow to hear from our travel agent with some good news. instead of changing our booking completely i've talked the 10 yr old into being willing to be brave if we had an over night stay in bali.. so it looks like we'll do a quick transit from bali to singapore and return spending a nite in bali at the end.. from some fast calculations today it looks like that might be cheaper than changing the trip to singapore. So.. provided we get it. i'm going to do a speed shop for a few hours in bali .. :) i guess i'll preorder dvd's.. and grab the things i wanted the most from poppies lane and that will do. no ubud though.. i'm cancelling that tomorrow.. :( was to be the highlight of the trip
so anyone looking for accom in ubud the tegal sari's duplex room is gonna be vacant for 2 nites late nov.
i've been addicted to this forum on and off for a very long time. Thanks everyone for the wonderful information and the jbr's.
perhaps i can do a mini jbr afterwards.. "what i did in a few hours with dodgy knees and restricted area" :) i haven't had a decent shop in bali for more than 12 years.. it will be good to see what i can get up to between leaving the airport and dark. :)
