We will be in Bali from 13 to 27 Oct staying one week in Tuban and the other in Kuta. We did consider changing our Kuta accomodation but finally decided against it. Just my opinion but with Kuta now being so quiet as others have said, moving may well be putting us into a higher risk area if everyone is now staying in other areas. If Kuta is now quiet as others have said then we just felt that perhaps it lowers the risk (obviously doesnt totally eliminate it) as there is not the usual high number of tourists around to target. Also felt that with the heightened security measures that seem to have been put in place in Kuta it may be somewhat safer. Whether you choose to change areas must be your decision at the end of the day and you need to feel comfortable and safe.
