the rate has dropped the last couple of days and we are getting about 7450 today but they are giving such good bargains because there is no one around. I didn't even have to barter this morning because they were doing it for me!!! There is a huge amount of security everywhere and we feel quite safe during the day. It has been Galugan at present so there are alot of shops closed but even so there are not many tourists on the streets. We have been paying higher that need be for alot of things simply because we feel so sorry for the Balinese and are worried about them.
At night we have mostly been keeping pretty close to the hotel, Kuta Paradiso, and just going to places like Bubba Gumps because of the high security there.
All in all we are happy and safe and not going to cut our trip short.
