I was there last week and spent our first few days buying originals from surf shops rather than fakes from street vendors. Virtually all the stores we went to had very similar pricing. Surfer's Paradise, down south with a big surfer statue out the front, was meant to be cheap but it was the same price as Jungle Surf and all the other shops in Kuta. Average t-shirt price was between 175,000Rp ($22AUD) and 250,000Rp ($32AUD), so it's a fair bit cheaper than back in Aus. Street vendor prices I got for fake surf brands ranged from 30,000Rp ($3.90AUD) to 45,000Rp ($5.85AUD) but I wasn't very good at bargaining.
