I really don't think that anyone is going to tell you to go now. After the last bomb we were all sure that Bali was safe, it was a one off thing, lightning wouldn't strike twice etc etc.

If you went and anything happened to you the guilt would be unbearable for those that advised you "not to worry", imho.

Elephant park should be fine, miles from anywhere. Waterbomb already had strict security in place.

I never felt 100% safe my past 8 trips since the first bomb, but still went and also took our daughter once. Now I don't know. My favourite "strip" is absolutely not a safe place (Laksmana) and I cannot see any kind of security measures being effective along there.

We love to go to the beach, eat in restarants and shop. We're not ragers and thought we would be safe. If the reasons we go (apart from the people of course) are denied us, is it worth going? We will be weighing the pros and cons very carefully, as must you. You are right to have doubts and a holiday is a time when you should be carefree. Listen to your heart and don't be swayed by anyone, the ultimate decision (and responsibility) is yours. You are the only ones who can decide what you can live with.

Sorry not to be of more help, but I've had little else on my mind for the last few days. I've read every (conflicting) report from all the forums, seen all the news and read all the papers (Indo also)and the only answer I've come up with is that there is no answer.

Sue;~)
