DAY 5, 17TH SEPT.
Today started with a certain amount of tension as it was auction day for a property we hoped to return to in Melbourne. We sit waiting for the phone to ring from friend who is bidding for us...nail biting stuff for us. The phone call comes and once again this was not the property for us and now I am quite depressed.
So it is off out to divert attention away from Melbourne apartments. First stop for the day is Ubud Art Museum just opposite casa Luna restaurant. Saw lots of works of art and picturesque gardens, this is worth going to and is quite inexpensive. It is very peaceful here and we didn't see any other westerners at all. Morning tea was a short stroll across the road to Casa Luna, Iced coffee, long black and lime papaya tart RP62000. Bali has some lovely places to go for a terrific cup of real coffee and this is one of them. Walked to ganesha bookshop, great book shop has new and used books here. Bought a few Indonesian language and cookbooks here, very cheap books. Stopped at Oka's and I had Bubi Guling for lunch. It was lovely and consisted of pork, crackle, rice, chilli sambal, vegies and lawar sausage for RP10000 and boy was I to suffer from this lunch....
Tonight we had dinner at our friends restaurant Miro's on the corner of jl Bisma and Jalan Raya Ubud, nice meal, trio of dips, curried chicken and tuna Niros, vanilla tea and beers for RP147000.
Walked back to hotel, but I am not too well with nausea and stomach aches, oh oh this is not good....

DAY 6, 18TH SEPT.
Well it is Sunday, the day Honeymoon have special brekky of sticky black rice and I am too sick to enjoy any of it, I can't even look at food today... I have cancelled my salt and palm sugar tour as I need to be very close to the bathroom today.
David and Liza have given me some entrostop medicine that is meant to be great for Bali Belly. Doesn't seem to be having any effect on me at all........ Gary has gone out for the day, to see some jewellers, and drop off our music for the wedding.
Dinner tonight was short walk away to Café Des Artistes in Jl Bisma, I am so sick the sight of food is making me ill so there is no meal report tonight from me.

DAY 7, 19TH SEPT.
Another great day in Bali. I am still a bit seedy so only dry toast and tea for me today. No such problems for Gary, he polishes of 2 breakfasts toast, eggs, pancakes, fruit and juice and coffee. This was to become a regular occurrence for the next few days.......with me being sick.
Ary chef from Bali Mystique calls about the menu for the wedding, so we arrange to go to Bali Mystique for dinner to talk in person.
Went into Ubud to get film developed RP31000, buy wedding shoes RP50000, necklace and earrings for wedding outfit RP300000.
Dinner at Indus tonight, absolutely wonderful meal and we are kicking ourselves that we have left it to the second last night in Ubud to dine here. Food is great, we have drinks, grilled prwns, seafood fettuncini, seafood crepes, lime tart and chocolate mocha pie and coffee RP256000. I am sick of not eating so decided to have a lovely meal regardless. Great idea, Caron spent the night in the bathroom. Oh well got to enjoy Indus food.

Day 8, 20th SEPT.
Today is an exciting day as all the family leave Melbourne for the Bali wedding. Once again tea and dry toast for me and stayed at the hotel. Gary has gone out for the day.
I have a massage, manicure and pedicure later in the day at Tri Nadi Salon next to Honeymoon Guesthouse in Jl Bisma, all up cost RP125000 and the girls did a great job. This is not a flash salon, but the girls take pride in their work and I was very happy with the experience here.
All of the family have arrived and sms'd me with their new sim cards. Number one son's room will not be ready till 8-00pm Bali time, he is not happy. I get a message saying he is not happy, doesn't like the heat or the pushy people, oh dear me!!!! I hope this is not the start of a disastrous holiday for Kris.
Kris is finally in his room at Ramayana and seems happy now. Ben (number 2 son) is at BGH and is happy with everything; Gary's parents are at Mandira Hotel and are overawed and overwhelmed by everything at the moment. Gary's brother is at Kuta Lagoon and seems happy enough. Our frind Harry is also at Kuta Lagoon. It is the influx of our wedding guests today..
We have another nice dinner at Indus and get ready to go to Sanur tomorrow.
