Those guys tend not to do their own fighting and suicide bombing. They are the people who get the predominantly ignorant and desperate guys to do the dirty work for them.
Look at Amrozi... the guy's a borderline retard, and he gets described as a "mastermind". The guys they get to blow themselves up are even less intelligent.
But they're not the only ones lying to their poor young people and using them as bomb fodder. None of the Western leaders are personally hunting Bin Laden (they're still looking for him, right?) or shooting at Iraqi insurgents. And how many of their own kids did they send?
And speaking of people who don't get counted in death tolls... how about Iraqi and Afghan citizens who aren't even numbered, but are blanketed with the hideous term "collateral damage"?
I have great contempt for people who manipulate others for evil purposes, whatever side they're on. But I feel pity for those who fall for the lies and who die or kill for someone else's agenda, believing they are fighting for God or their nation.
