that many of the places/nightspots/restaurants in Bali are indefensible against terrorist attacks. The very openness of the venues that attracts us, is their weakness. I dont want to stay in a walled resort, visiting enclosed bars and sandbagged restaurants like I did in London after the tower was bombed! This situation reminds me of the spate of aircraft hijackings of some years ago. Once the airlines and authorities got with the program, the problem subsided.
I don't believe that the attacks are over and by staying away we may bring the necessary incentive for Indonesia to clean up its act.
Just for the record, BB and I have been back twice since the bombing that killed our friend and her 13 yo daughter. Having a "straw in your mouth and drink in your hand" is no compensation for being burnt to death.
Enough is enough !
