Nope, scroll down to my post titled "Our decision". You are not alone by any means but you are posting on a forum of die hard Bali fans so ........ don't expect a lot of positives for your choice here.
Think about statements like "they need our support" which could be translated to "I've booked, I'm looking forward to it, don't want to change my plans and I want my reasonably priced holiday". or "I don't have travel insurance and I'll lose too much money" Now if returning to Bali is the solution then how come it hasn't worked when the Balinese were supporting by tourists returning since the first round if bombings?

And if these people really believe that they want to help the Balinese then why don't they forgo their time in Bali and send the trip money over to support a family for goodness knows how long - but it would be quite a while. I'd like to see that one!

There needs to be changes from within Bali/Indonesia for any real change to occur in Bali rather than providing terrists with more targets. I find the we "don't want them to win" equally interesting - I don't call being a target (potential victim?) winning. I call living and holidaying where I don't have to stay confined to the resort and can shop and eat where ever and when I like without fearing for my life .... winning.
Our decision not to go was downright painful - but my husband and I love each other and our lives too much to put them at any further risk. ( I say further risk for those who would reply with the "but every time you drive your car etc etc )
