I believe that the Indonesian Gov. and local officials
have to take some strong action to make us feel safe
again.They failed to do so and all that "bla bla bla"
in the news about condemming the terrorists does not cut it for me.
I can not help but get the feeling that they are being soft
on these mass murderers.
If we act like business as usual it will be business
as usual and the whole thing will happen all over again
only killing maybe more people next time.
Yes there are a lot of poor people who need help but that
also is first of all the governments responsibility.
What is being done to help from that end ?
It is very sad indeed but I just can not believe anymore
that by supporting the local economy alone we will solve
the real problems.We all tried that the last time !!!
The government makes a lot of money just think about the
entry visa fees , departure taxes , income and all sorts
of other taxes from the big hotels ect....
They are going to feel the pinch as well and they are
the only ones in power to really fight these thugs.
I feel I can almost guarantee you nothing is going to change
if the tourist dollar comes rolling in again as if nothing
happened other than having to sacrifice a few tourists here or
there that is.
Unfortunately there is a lot of violence in Indonesia and it
is making its way to our beloved vacation island.
