I am amazed by the posts where people are annoyed when family and friends urge them not to go to Bali. If someone I loved said "please don't go, I would worry too much" I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying away.
You have to have respect for other peoples emotions. I would never knowingly cause anyone I love distress. Lord knows there are enough stressful situations in life without doing something you know in advance will upset someone.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out over the next few weeks. I read that most will be in "denial" and those are the ones going, but as things settle (if they do) people will think less emotionally and make the decision NOT to take the risk.
I also think that a few people are concerned with cancellation charges and may still go, but their next choice will not be Bali. I do not see the long term being positive
I have had a few little "scares" during my visits since the last bomb. Enough to know what I will be like after this latest atrocity. Delivery trucks seeming to park for too long..lights going off due to power cuts in shopping centres..men with big hot overcoats on stinking hot days.
Life's too short already.
