It is good have all views expressed - some of which I share. We have also been going to Bali for about the same period (~20yrs) and have experienced some of the deception. Having given money every trip to a couple who we thought were poorly off, we subsequently found out when we were looking at property for sale that their property worth was far greater than ours!!!
We've now have another family to channel our charity to.
