SIDE SHOW ALLEY CLEAN-UP
Every year for the past four or five we have cleaned up Side Show Alley after the Perth Royal Show to raise funds for the poor, the maligned and the children of Bali.In the past, every single cent of the money we get paid has been spent on essential food,vitamins,clothing,bedding, school items,medicines and medical equipmentetc for many orphanges and for Robin Lim's clinic in Bali. We have also been able to put these funds towards several life changing operations for chldren in Bali.
This year, with the help of my very good friend and Rotarian, Noel Allen, we have a couple of different projects in mind. Firstly,one is to build a toilet block and fresh water facility in a samll, remote school in Armed. This school has no fresh water and no toilet facilities at all...can we imagine?. I don't think so.You might remember from Noel's previous posts from Rotary's distribution day, as he described the difference such a simple thing as a loo can make. Noel told us that in the last school where Rotary built a clean well and new toilet block the children health improved immediatley.The school kids had mostly been sick and unwell but with the improvment in the quality of the water they seemed to make a 'miracle' recovery.
The second project that I am very interested in, with the promting from Noel, is 'INTERPLAST',a Rotary run project that involves Australian Plastic Surgeons who volunteer to travel to places like Bali, using their 'magic' and expertise to fix and mend all sorts of ailments.... from burns, congenital deformities, cleft palates and hare lips, facial deformities, injuries from car and motor bike accidents, broken limbs and bodies etc.

Start about 9am Finish around (hopefully) 2pm.
Bring a hat and a rake.
Coffee, tea, water, snacks, gloves, sunscreen all provided.
Kids more than welcome.
If you have a spare hour or so we'd love and appreciate your help.
Every cent that we raise will go to a great cause..Noel will take care of that.
