My wife and I have had ten years of wonderful, relaxing and very remerable hoilday's in Bali, on 4 occassions with our kids who are now in their late teens.
God could not have created a more beautiful island where the people are so friendly, fun loving and caring and your holiday is completely care free, almost everything is done for you.
However, returning a week after the 2002 bombings, with the supposedly increased security, thinking we were being very supportive of our friends, all lovely people in their time of need...they were no where to be found.
Without jobs, so many places had closed due to lack of business, and no steady income, they had returned to their villages to look
after their parents and families without any government assistance, no Dole or financial support, never did we see them again.
We have been every year since then and made new friends wherever we have stayed, the last trip in June this year and our next trip planned for next May.
Not now, we don't want to put our lives at risk and miss out on not seeing our future grandchildren grow up and put our kids through the heartache of worrying each time we were due to go to Bali.
The fact is, you can't stop the Terrorists, they strike wherever and whenever the like, they always get through security, no matter what, that is what they are trained for...and God help the people where they strike, nightclubs, restuarants, shopping malls all of these at night, what happens when they start to stike during daylight along main streets and busy intersections in Legion and Kuta.
If you loose your life for the sake of terrorists, you won't
be able to help the Balinese.
Have a really good think before you make your decision to go back.
My deepest condolances to all families, forumites and Balinese who have have lost loved ones at this tragic time.
