We're also not pulling the plug. A group of us are booked for almost a month over Xmas. The phones started ringing as soon as the news hit the airwaves and the unanimous and immediate decision was 'We're not canceling!!!'. Admittedly, we are all concerned, especially as there are families with young kids involved, but it could happen anywhere (London, Madrid, NY, Cape Town, Egypt, Atlanta, etc etc,) not to mention the other risks associated with travel (air crashes, bus accidents, floods & tsunamis etc).
Consensus is that we'll avoid the busy areas and packed restaurants/pubs etc as much as possible and enjoy the quieter more peaceful parts of the island. (although I think everything will be pretty quiet if the tourist numbers drop like they did following the Sari Club etc bombs). I was back in 2003, three months after the bomb, and it was like a ghost town (we were often the only patrons in many restaurants and had the run of most hotels we visited).
