a little photo album with photos of my family with descriptions on the facing page (in Indonesian). I'm a teacher and put a photo of my class and told about what we do at school. Also about our family (our likes, sports etc).
When I visit I take photos and the album is getting full now.
If you translate it into Indonesian you can write what you like as it will be understood (if not by the family then someone from the village). Not everyone reads Indonesian in the villages.
Whatever you decide will be fine. I'm sure they are very grateful to have a sponsor.
