One thing that must be said - a group of us were there on the 12th October 2002 and a smaller group returned home.
Have been three times since, love the place.
But - holidays are for enjoyment and the atmosphere in Bali for 12 months afterwards, basically until Paddy's reopened and celebrations were enjoyed, was one of loss, hurt and anger, and perhaps sorrow from the locals.
I was booked for next week - yearly trip for the anniversary, but am looking at cancelling.
After being through the aftermath, we stayed over a week afterwards last time, I don't want my Partners first experience of Bali to be one filled with the emotions that are guaranteed to be experienced so soon after this tragic event.
Why can't people just treasure life... Bloody pricks!
