You should check your luggage when you leave and when you arrive to make sure nobody has tried to smuggle anything in your luggage. If they do, you will be up for life in prison in Bali
And you should check your surrounds when you are there, make sure you don't eat in places that aren't monitored by police for unsavory characters where lots of tourists congregate and that make easy targets
If you do that, then you are rational and you can have "less fear"
Talk to Peter Hughes and see if he thinks you should walk around Bali without being careful.
I know your comment is just a knee jerk reaction to the situation. But for people to simple act in an unsafe manner because they feel that will "show them"... it won't show them anything. It just makes for more easy targets.
