I could have used a lot more space and repeat what others are saying. By not saying anything doesn't make me unsympathetic as I'm certainly worked up about all of this and have been listening and reading intensely. In fact, had a person over for dinner last night and he get's an sms from a local balinese advising of the bombings - we will be supporting this person when we get there in a couple of days (as well as bags and bags of goodies for orphanages).

The request for a mobile was for the 16yo, who is more than ever determined to go to Bali - he is asking all the time on what can we do when we get there.
There's a consistent theme running through a number of messages for people leaving very shortly (within the next few days) that they are still going ahead (us included). We still will be buying and have decided to be moderate in "bartering" so the locals get that little extra. Read some of the messages where locals are crying because they can see their livelihood affected.
