My wife and I have two children, the eldest is 6, our youngest 3. When he is 5 we will take them, I was a child traveller and we made this decission through my experiences. Bali Means different things to different people and I do very much accept your point thta friends will be worried. I am worried about family there atm, however these attacks, are a gamble we all take with travel now, both domestic and international.
If you cancel, in my opinion, the terrorists win. Bali's economy is driven by the tourist dollar. Take that away and the already difficult life they have will suddenly get very worse.
Take your friends, take your family, do not go at all, but make your descision with balinese in mind as well.
