I don't have a daughter (I'm 22) but I know that my Dad didn't want me to go to Bali in December anyway when I booked it last april - When I told him thismorning about the bombings (they were at their holiday house so hadn't heard yet) and that I didn't think I could go anymore, I think he was relieved. He wouldn't want me going now, even more so than before.
At the same token, AS a daughter, I have great respect for my parent's views and for my Dad to be concerned would be of concern to me(because he's not one to worry usually). Mum said I have to make my own choice, and that I'm old enough to decide what I want to do. For me, this is the last straw I think.
So perhaps if you let your kids know your point of views but still allow them the right, as individuals and adults, if that is the case, to make their own decisions, i'm sure they will decide what they feel is right for them.
