My hubby doesn't like Bali either so i have had many visits on my own. He much prefers the simplicity of Vanauatu but he has agreed to go next March and so I was going to for go shopping and go to as many diving /snorkeling places as possible . At this stage we haven't discussed still going - I definately will be going but I'm not sure about him and I won't pressure him. good luck with whatever decision you make
