You will certainly notice changes in 24 years.
From memory the rate for RP to Aussie was about RP 700.
Now it is around RP 7700 for a dollar.
But with all of those changes prices are still relative to our dollar.
Cars dont float down the roads when it rains anymore they have some reasonable drains now days.
It used to be limestone roads if you passed Jalan Melasti , now Double Six is the busy end of town in the night.
The shopping is far better now , try the New Discovery Centre.
Try the Garlic Lane area for good cheap eating and entertainment.
There is hardly any bad places around now , in those early days you had to be very carefull where you ate.
A beer is still a dollar at happy hours , the same as it was then.
It is still the best holiday destination in Asia , easliy the cheapest.
How do I know ? I work all around asia but I still come back to BALI.
