Before I start my JB 2 there is something I forgot to put in JB1, sorry. On the flight from Perth I sat next to a very friendly couple who had their two beautifully behaved sons in the seats infront. After chatting for a while (which I tend to do a lot of on take off and landing) the BTF was mentioned and it turned out I was sitting next to DeeRik. She gave me good tips on where to find great soft toys in Discovery Mall, thanks for that.
After that little de tour....I went on the elephant safari. Now I know why they call it Bali Adventure tours!! Cos that is just what it was - an adventure! The driver was spot on time and picked up another couple in Sanur (Jay and Paul) who came from England so we got on very well.
For the ride I was put on an elephant called Yanti with just the trainer and the couple on the one behind. All went well as I soon got used to the roll of the elephants walk untill we came to a ditch and the trainer said "dont jump, Yanti" Luckily she didnt. By this time the one behind was the one in front (id you follow) and she picked up a big palm leaf. Would you believe a mouse ran out from under it. Its true elephants and mice dont like eachother. I saw it jump side ways. Anyway we carried on up a little hill, as we got to the top a procession complete with flags and gamalan came round the corner and both elephants took fright and ran for home. The one behind (with the couple on) caught up with Yanti but couldnt get past to started hitting her behind with its trunk. All credit to the trainers who soon got things undercontrol and the rest of the ride went very smoothly, well as smooth as an elephant goes :-) through cool palm tree lines tracks.
WE all enjoyed the meal then during the elephant show Yanti
painted a picture. WE got to pet the baby elephant and feed them and Yanti put a ring of flowers over my head.
