I was wondering if your mum did the white water rafting too. If she fell into the water she may have aspirated some river water into the lungs causing her pneumonia (Aspiration Pnemonia) I know when we did the rafting some years back we were told if we fell in to keep our mouths shut so as not to drink any of the river water... that's easier said than done. Sincerely hope she makes a full recovery soon.
