We have sponsored our friend who stayed with us for one month which was the maximum allowed for his 30 day visa (as per airline ticket).
You will need to give copies to Australian embassie showing how much money u have in your bank account will need to supply account from now and the last 3 months accounts must have money in the bank this shows that u are able to support your friend. U will need a letter to say u are going to sponsor and support your friend. Get your friend to go to the Australian Embassie and they will supply him/her with all the info that is required for them to be able to come to Aus, and then go from there....Best of luck! Also if they have a friend in tourism agency this can be of great help as they can help organise things for your friend.
