........for a good day out, to yourself and Raewyn, David & Moira plus all the Staff involved, especially your well chosen litle pocket Venus, Greta the Maitresse D from Singapore, who looked after this auldshight affectionately. It's hard to remember the colour of her eyes, what with other more obvious attractions on display: Cracker, you dirty old man!
The beer was cold, the copious finger food delicious and what more could you want in addition to old friends remet, including Burti and the never to be forgotten footy player Gavin Wake, Sharks of course, who was sorta related to us for some years. Strop and his Olympic Medallist lady were a delight to meet again. Raewyn was stunning as was Moira. Having clocked Raewyn in her radiance, the thoughts of Cracker No 8 were unavoidable.
The markets were almost deserted of tourists, but those who wandered through were well pleased with the beautifully crafted scheissenhausen and the Bar in its new-found glory. Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?
The stall-holder on the left was glad to see me hobbling as he knew I couldn't get very far! We parted with mutual smiles: he with 140,000 he hadn't expected and yours truly with a bagful of jewellery for Marie, Kids, Kidlets and all.
One high spot was after Cracker's speech (at least he never said "unaccustomed though I am" ), when he called the Construction Crew forward and presented each worker with a set of brand new tools. A nice touch indeed.
An alternative name for this den of happy sippers would be a take-off of the Balinese thank you, which is Matur Suksema, pronounced suksemoe: "Suck Some More", as the Stubby being assiduously sucked, was very much in evidence throughout this happy, memorable matinee.
May success guide your steps on this well planned and designed project
The whole (!) thing was well worth getting shot in the ass for.
