Day 6 - Tuesday 18th October
Had a big sleep in today. Didn't wake up until 8 am. Is getting later every morning. Rained again overnight and was overcast. Thankfully there was no rain today but it was very muggy. It was warm but not hot.
OMG. The morning after a big night on cocktails which contain arak is not good. Could barely move my head as it was pounding. I never suffer headaches but by geez did I have one this morning. Had to take two Panadol extra this morning. Mark went off to breakfast at about 8.30 am. I managed to drag myself out of bed and over for breakfast at about 9am. I forced down an omelette. The staff thought it was a hoot when they found out my sorry state the result of too much arak the night before. After breakfast I went back to bed and snoozed for a while. By 11 am I decided it was time to break out the berocca. Should have done this much earlier. Pulled myself somewhat together at 11.30 am and we headed out to transfer photos from the digital camera on to cd and get 1 set of prints as the memory card was full by this stage.
We went to the Kodak shop next to the Dynasty Hotel. To have the photos put to cd and 75 prints it cost 210 000 Rp (AUS $28.00). Wandered on to Jenny's shop opposite the Green Garden Hotel again where I bought a small size silk kimono for our youngest daughter, a medium sized silk kimono for our oldest daughter, a wrap pant and matching top set for youngest daughter, medium size pair of wrap pants for our oldest daughter, 2 pairs of wrap pants for myself and 3 long sleeve cotton embroidered tops for some of our nieces for 255 000 Rp (AUS $34.00). Then onto Dianne's shop two doors down where I bought a small hippy skirt for youngest daughter, medium sized hippy skirt for oldest daughter, another long sleeve cotton embroidered top for my sister in law, a small Bali dress and wrap skirt and matching tank top with tassels and small layered skirt for our youngest daughter for 130 000 Rp (AUS $17.33).
We decided to head across the road to the Green Garden Hotel for lunch. Mark had spring rolls 12 000 Rp (AUS $1.60) followed by satay beef 30 000 Rp (AUS $4.00) with a bintang 10 000 Rp (AUS $1.33) while I opted for a nasi goreng 24 000 Rp (AUS $3.20) and a coke 6 000 Rp (AUS $0.80). No arak or bintang for me today! The food was very yummy here. Including government tax 8 200 Rp (AUS $1.09) the total bill came to 90 200 Rp (AUS $12.03) but we paid them 95 000 Rp (AUS $12.67). From here we headed back to our hotel so I could have another sleep.
At 7 pm I was feeling a lot better and we headed out for dinner. Ended up going to Bali Asi in Poppies I where Mark had spring rolls 9 000 Rp (AUS $1.20) followed by satay chicken 21 000 Rp (AUS $2.80) which he washed down with a small bintang 6 000 Rp (AUS $0.80) while I had cap cay 14 000 Rp (AUS $1.87) with a coke 3 000 Rp (AUS $0.40). Total bill came to 53 000 Rp (AUS $7.07) but as usual we just rounded it up to 60 000 Rp (AUS $8.00).
After dinner we walked back up to Jalan Legian then turned right and walked along here where we then turned right onto what we think was Jalan Sangosari then left onto Jalan Kartika Plaza. Walked up till we reached Black and White Sports where I bought a pink LV trolley suitcase for one of our two girls for 250 000 Rp (AUS $33.33). This store is fixed price so there was no bargaining to be done. We then walked up a little further and on the same side bought a brown with pink flower LV trolley case for myself and a large pink LV roll type overnight bag for one of our two daughters for 300 000 Rp (AUS $40.00) for both. We headed back to our hotel to relax and check some of the DVD's we had purchased. I ended up sitting up until 4 am checking DVD's to make sure they worked and were reasonable copies.
Sorry you will all now have to wait while I finish typing up our JBR into the word document. This is as far as I have got so far. Will post more tomorrow.
Cheers
