The newspaper today has Health Minister, Tony Abbott, saying that their is a 10% chance that a pandemic may happen in the next 12 months.
Ok, so if we do what the media says and everyone return to their home countries now, that is Not just to Australia but all Nationalities to their homelands what will happen to the world. A recession. That is what will happen.
The tourism industry as well as trade will suffer enormously.
The media hypes up every bloody thing at the moment, Bird flu, go home, Bali bombing, don't travel. Haven't heard them say don't travel to UK for their subway bombings though.
If and when their is a pandemic it will be bad, but if we only have a 10% chance in the next 12 months, I think those odds are promising, that means a vaccine may be available in time. But in the meatime a lot of birds will be killed and the pandemic may never happen.
