There was a road block on the road (not sure what the road is called but the one that runs along the back) that leads to all of the Jimbaran restaurants and they stopped all cars and checked boots, underneath cars, etc. There was no bag checks as you entered Sharkys however, there was a security guard posted on the beach at the front of all of the tables. We felt pretty safe - we were there on a Thursday night and it was pretty quiet - only about 4 or 5 tables of people. However, there didn't appear to be anyone at any of the restaurants for about 100 metres either side of Sharkys. I wonder how these poor people are surviving - feel so sad for them all.
