Garuda Indonesia's flight into Adelaide this Friday will now be on its original schedule - Direct and Non-Stop. This will also be the case for the flight arriving on Friday 11th November.
Also, Garuda will be reverting to its original schedules Australia-Wide from 20th December. The first direct into Adelaide will arrive on 23rd December (leaving Denpasar Thursday evening 22nd December).
This is great news as with the present arrangement, passengers holding existing tickets are being flown by Garuda with Qantas - Friday morning outbound through Melbourne and Friday morning inbound through Sydney.
With the re-scheduling of 28th October and 11th November, it will mean that between now and 22nd December there will be only 5 Garuda flights which are affected by the current re-scheduling.
This will, I feel, quickly re-establish bookings from Adelaide passengers who really wanted to both depart and return on a Friday but who were reluctant to make two Interstate flights to do this.
The outbound through Melbourne wasn't really an issue with most who were enquiring as they would be landing there in any case if travelling Garuda out of Adelaide. There was, however, a major issue with returning through Sydney which meant that they would have to complete Customs & Immigration there before re-checking their baggage and making the trek from International to Domestic Terminal for their Qantas Sydney/Adelaide fight.
