14th October - We visited Hula's to see the drag show and what a night. We had met a Dutch couple on their honeymoon at S&S and went to Indo's for dinner 1st then to the show. Several Arak's later and with it being my birthday the following day, I was dragged onto the stage, make up redone in 30 seconds, drank some green cocktail and had the whole cast dancing around me singing happy birthday. The Dutch thought that it is hilarious. Definately worth going just for the laughs. Onto to Posers for a few drinks, then Santa Fe's in Seminyak and then Q's for a dance. What a night, lost my thongs but thoroughly enjoyed myself. Got home about 4am (I think).

We met some lovely people in Bali, from Ketut our driver to the waitress at the restaurant down the road. As we got our mobiles free from Vodafone 11 months ago, I gave mine to our waitress, Iu from the Lucky Day restaurant. She was over the moon that someone could part with something that would cost her nearly 1 months wages. To us it was pure joy to see the look on her face. Sadly, she lost her job at Lucky Day 3 days later.

Places to we ate:

Lucky Day, Jl Abimanya, Seminyak (open from 4pm daily)
Nasi Goreng 35 000
Surf & Turf (very tender) 120 000
Avocado & shrimp cocktail 25 000
This place is only 3 months old and what can I say, clean, friendly and the toilets of a 5* hotel. WOW.
They have magazines so that you can have a coffee and catch up on the current gossip, table & chairs or booth seating, indoor and outdoor dining, Food was presented well and was very tasty, good size portions, nice background music, great service and nice cocktails.

Indo National, Jl Sahadewa, Legain (Garlic Lane)
Old but firm favourite
Aussie owned and run.
Meal sizes are HUGE, don't order entrees (tapas).
Nasi Goreng 25 000
Large Bintang 16 000
We ate there (4 adults), 2 Nasi Goreng, 2 Mie Goreng, 4 sates, 6 large bintangs. Total bill 380 000. WOW!!!!!
Toilet is clean (unisex but OK).
Kerry & Milton (owners) are lovely people and give good advice.

Café Moka, Jl Legain, Seminyak
Great cakes!!!!!
Eclairs 8 000
Almond Crossaint 18 000
Didn't eat anything else but cakes there but seemed to have a good menu

Lanai's, Legain/Seminyak
Don't know the name of the 'Jalan' but it is a continuation of Jalan Double six along the beach heading towards Kuta. It is a 2 storey place not far from the old Café Warna (with the treehouse)
Nice little place, we only ate upstairs which had tables plus booth style seating
2 mains, 1 or 2 entrees, 2 large bintang, 1 coke approx 180 000
Toilets are clean.

To be continued.............
