After reading many messages on here about Charity I decided to follow suit and dig out a lot of old clothes, could have filled up a clothes shop 10 times over.
I then contacted Garuda to explain that I will need extra baggage allowance as I was taking many clothes over for the orphange. They told me that they contacted their check in staff at the Brisbane airport who informed them that we can only have an extra allowance of 5kg. I am taking next to nothing in my suitcase so I will fill it up to the limit but unfortunetly I will have to leave behind a lot more clothes which is better off over there. I am just a little bit annoyed with Garuda now.
Point of my story is just contact the airline prior to leaving to let them know and to see if its ok.
