Well I've been back nearly 2 weeks and just starting to get over the post Bali blues (Only because I've started the planning on the next trip :-) ). Time to share my trip with the rest of you lovely people.
We left Melbourne on a typical cold Melbourne morning. We took the paranoid way and shrink wrapped our luggage. Flew AP direct, great flight and I am informed, as I slept the whole way, great food. First of the plane, VOA, and join the line for immigration. About half an hour and through to wait for the luggage. Now we might have been first of the plane, but our luggage was definately last off! Finally arrives, avoid the porters and out through Customs. Whoo hoo, we're here! There's those great smells, the hustle and bustle. Don't worry about finding our ride just yet, I need a smoke and soak in some of that warmth. Alright, all nicotined up, find the guy with our name on his sign (note for self, next year no transfers) and we're off to the hotel.
This year Ramayana Hotel in Kuta again. As soon as we get out of the van the restaurant staff are coming over greeting and hugging us. It's just like coming home. Upstairs, throw a couple of things out of the case, mind you I basically only had 1 t-shirt, 1 pair of shorts and underwear in there. Downstairs, heading to the Matahari to get smokes when we bump into Gr8time, Paul, Alan and Dennise. Quick dash for the smokes, back for a few drinks, well 1 or 7 Bintangs!
Head off down Jalan Legian to find some dinner.Changed some cash, rate 7400. Kept walking down to Garlic lane and into Indonational for dinner, they have the best Garlic Bread I've ever had! Garlic Prawns 65,000 Grilled Seafood Platter 45,000 and Garlic Bread 10,000.
Walked back along the beach to the hotel, fell into bed and flaked it.
Hope I haven't sent anyone to sleep, if it's to detailed let me know and I'll cut it out. I have kept prices for everything I bought!
Day 2 coming up!
