just returned from 3 weeks there. we stayed in a one bed apartment (privately owned) and found it great value for money. Not 5 star but comfortable and great value for money. The resort facilities are good and the staff are helpful although they could use one more pool waiter. There are a few privately owned apartments available on the net at much cheaper rates than you will get through a travel agent. Ours ended up about $30 aus a night.
If you end up staying there I would really recommend the terrific food at the new Seaside restaurant which is 100 metres to the north along the esplanade and the american breakfast at Zanzibar which is great value for money. Hope this helps
