We stayed there around two years ago, so this info may have changed somewhat, but for what it's worth:

Meals at the hotel restaurant can be quite expensive, although I think the black rice pudding is worth the $5 :) ; there is also a more reasonably priced pub at the hotel that serves pizza and divine garlic bread.

There is also a restaurant amidst the shops at Tanah Lot (Dewi Sintha, I believe) that you could walk to, although I wouldn't try to walk back to the hotel if it is quite dark outside. We hired a driver for the week, so before dropping us off at Le Meridien after a day out, he would drive us to Dewi Sintha for take-out and we would eat in our room.

We used the free shuttle bus service to Kuta and to Ubud, and it was long, hot day in Kuta, waiting for the bus to come back and pick us up. (The bus dropped off and picked up in Tuban, actually, not Kuta.) After that, we decided to book our own driver for the week.

The pools and grounds are beautiful--have a wonderful time!
