The same thing has happened to us at the dynasty also. We had duty free perfume, lots of cash & jewellery stolen from the coded safes. There were other people with broken in safes the same night...All three of us were told we probably hadn't locked our safe either. I know I had as I am very paranoid everytime I leave the room. Anyhow we learn from our mistakes, we have been back to the dynasty several times since but always use the safety deposit boxes near reception, no extra hassle and haven't had any trouble at all.
Sorry about the horror end to your holiday, can really relate this totally.
PS. Ours happened on our second day there!!
