we took our 3 kids to Bali in july. Our 5 year old wandered off to find dad while I locked the hotel room door without me realising and walked a different way to her older sister and got herslf "lost". Now I could hear her but not see her. Even though she was close and within seconds we were all looking for her it was a terrifying experience. Anyone could have taken her into their hotel room. A very kind Aus lady found her and brought her back to me.She had ended up down a very dark part at the back of the hotel and the lady had found her crying. She could hear me yelling out.But I cannot help but think things could have been different. Our kids are too precious to let roam around unsupervised anywhere. I learnt a valuable lesson and so did my daughters and I am lucky it didn't cost us too much.
