We stayed at the GVC again in Feb/Mar this year and found it fantastic budget accomodation. The "old" cottage rooms are very basic, tiled floor, bed, wardrobe, small table, bed side table and fridge. Shower over bath, loo inside bathroom, hand basin in main room. Our aircon worked brilliantly. There are no fancy bedspreads etc but who needs them anyway. Each cottage has its own little veradah with table and 2 chairs. The "new" cottages are exactly the same size as the "old". They have had the roofs re tiled, all insides gutted and repainted, retiled, new bathroom, new modern windows ,curtains, new furniture, new lighting. We would still be quite happy to stay in the "old" cottages. The food at the resturant is excellent especially the Sunday roast for about $6. They have a lovely "beauty parlour", hairdresser, nails, braids, massage, etc and there are lovely ladies that will give you a massage next to the pool or in the privacy of your room. The pool is great as it is always lovley and warm with a swim up bar and a separate shallow end for the little ones. They have live bands every night that are really good too, particulaly the Yellow Band. If you don't want the hassle of finding transport out on the street they even have drivers who will take you anywhere quite cheaply. Hope this helps and have a great holiday
