Lots of forumites talk about upgrading their hotel rooms when they arrive in Bali - they say things like "and it was only $10 more". What I'm wondering is: would that $10 be LESS than it would otherwise have been? That is certainly what the comments seem to IMPLY but noone ever actually states it, or enlightens the rest of us as to exactly what the difference in price was (if there was indeed any difference)?
I've booked a basic (Superior?) room at Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel through Mida at $45 a night incl tax/bkfst. But a number of forumites have complained that some of these rooms are very noisy (mosque and busy road nearby). Since I've already booked, don't know if I can now go back to Mida and specificially request a 'quiet room'? Otherwise, if I arrive and am unhappy with room, am trying to work out what options I have - if I ask to upgrade to a nicer room, am I likely to get one for less than the $65-odd I was originally quoted by Mida?
