We will be arriving in Bali on 6 November from Brisbane and departing Bali on 13 November as well (we live on the Gold Coast) and we are staying at the Bali Hai Resort in Tuban. I emailed Ketut from the Melasti Beach Resort Spas (where we have booked in for a lovely 1 hour massage and 1 hour pedicure (I actually found out about the spa off the forum) on the day we arrive and my niece is getting her hair plaited) and this is what she said:-
"Idul Fitri is a Muslim religious holiday. As you may know Bali is 98% Hindu religion so not very much is affected in Bali. It does make getting furniture made and shipped a bit difficult and a few shops may be closed. I don't think that it should affect your holiday though. 98% of the shops in Bali will remain open as will our spa."
I am hoping that it is not as bad as people have said and I too am taking the comment "no time is a bad time to go to Bali" and staying positive. There are so many other things happening in the world that are worse than not being able to get a taxi, so I am still really looking forward to it and not going to let it spoil our holiday.
Oh....congratulations on your little bundle of joy!! I have a little boy, Blake, who is 28 months and he will be staying home with my husband.
