The places I usually snorkel are at Lipah [Amed], Candi Dasa and Padang Bai, all a long way for a leisurely day trip for a lady with other things to consider. Some people like Nusa Lembongan, but again you may not feel like a boat trip.
One possibility is Geger Beach, Nusa Dua. You can get a driver to drop you off and either wait or come back for you. If you turn right when you get to the beach and walk towards the rocky headland, you will see some reef. Not particularly great, but at least it's handy.
