we ate at sharkeys a few months back...our driver we had been using suggested it, and I had heard about it on the forum so just went with his suggestion. He drove us straight into the restaurant, on the way he told us the restaurants aare very competitive and competition can get a bit aggressive at times.

As for the food and price well yeah it was dear for bali, but for a family of five we had 2 crabs, lobster, prawns, 2 whole squid (calimari), chips and 15 drinks (a combo of bintangs, cocktails and about 10 mix juices) the AUD price was about $85. We live near the coast and when we go out for seafood here for a treat would rarely pay less than $150 just for the 2 of us (without the kids)here for a comparable meal and drinks in an "upmarket" place and without the great atmosphere, eating on the beach, great susnset, roving band etc etc.

I can see why people think its over rated, but we loved the evening. Having said that if we go to bali again probably wouldnt bother with Jimbaran bay again but I think it is on the "must do List" for first timers if they like that sort of thing, and I am glad we went.
