All standard rooms have showers over the bath. Could be considered to be a bit high if you are a shorty. Excercise car getting in and out.
The new rooms all have T.V., but T.V's and DVD's can be hired at a small cost ffrom the staff at GVC or from Multi Disc across the road, plus many other people. See the archives on this.
None of the reonvated rooms can be considered standard. All are at additional cost, but very nicely appointed. It's up to you as to how much time you intend to spend in your room on holidays in Bali. Once you turn the lights out you may as well be in the Hilton in either case as you can't really see what the room is like.
The charm of the Garden View is experienced through delightful, attentive staff; the guests you will meet both around the pool and at the front bar which has a live band playing every night of the week and quite often guests will get up and give a rendition of their favourite songs; the area in which it is located with a short stroll to the beach and heaps of restaurants within a short distance; and a 5 (yes that's right FIVE) hour happy hour.
It is budget, but go with an open mind and enjoy. We have stayed there 6 times and thoroughly enjoy it. Hope this helps in some small way.
