Ate at Geneesha and Sharkeys in Jimbaran the last 2 weeks.
At Geneesha I asked if their scales were accurate to which they said yes.. then when I returned with the good old 600ml bottle of water to test the scales, I was ushered out of view and asked to wait until some Japanese customers had finished ordering their seafood.. After the Japs left, staff conceded that the scales were out about 400 grams! From memory they charged:
80,000Rp for kg of red snapper
80,000Rp for kg of squid
130,000Rp for kg of prawns
The bill all up for 4 people (with hearty appetites for food and drink)was about 360,000Rrp.
Last week at Sharkeys, no need to produce a bottle of water, they simply conceded when asked if their scales were accurate...out by about 300 grams.
Sharkey's prices were:
70,000Rp a kg of red snapper
70,000Rp a kg of crabs (delicious!)
70,000Rp a kg of squid
This cost us about 280,000Rp for 2 people plus they picked us up and dropped us back to our hotel PLUS they accept Amex, Visa & Mastercard...Something Ganeesha doesn't do
Overall, we preferred Sharkey's for food and service.
