siz months after getting it home it would not work, took it to the fix it guy and he said the chip was not installed properly, they had not put all the screws back in to hold the mother board in and that the wires they used had not been clipped so they were very long and touching on all things that they should not have. On the bright side it now works again, and the kids are happy. It is an older style playstation two, we went to buy a slim line in May for sister but each one they gave us would not work properly so went back to the older style. Guy here says lots of problems with the chipping of the slim lines. Second playstation still working fine.

Just my experience
