The best sates in bali fo the last 20 odd years.
Beef sates at the Pub with an icy cold bintang is really hard to beat in the heat of the day....
The sates are served on a sizzlng cast iron plate accompanied by a plate of Kecap manis, chopped fresh chilli and slice red onion [similar to shallots x spanish red onions]..
You will not get better in bali..
The pub is located on Jalan Bunisari which runs paralell to the beach and turn off Jalan Bakungsari in Kuta.
My other favourite is from the warungs - Ayam Goren Lalapan. The quality can vary from warung to warung. However for the last 2 years we have found a great place up on Jalan Legian opens at night situated between padma and Rum Jungle or close to [know the location by sight]on the eastern side of jalan legian.
Freshly fried chicken breast or thigh served with steamed white ice, fresh basil, beans, cucumber, and the hottest spiciest chilli sambal. I love the way the food all come wrapped up in little brown wads of paper with rubber bands securing them....and that sambal..
OMG died and gone to heaven... :-)
