Hi, boats not that big, but they are fine, not scary at all...be brave! My impression re the beach vendors is that they're all working for the same couple of companies. When the tide was too low near our resort one time, the beach guy said 'i'll call my company, they'll send transport to take you further along' (which ended up not working, as tide too low there too). That was for parasailing, I think you can always get to Turtle Is. in glass bottom boats
