Go go go! It is not the cheapest of outings (we went last year so I will let someone else give you the latest prices). Both parks are side by side but different ventures, same car park though. Aim to spend at least an hour in each, probably more. Take drink and food (and hand cleaning gel) if you don't want to pay steep prices at the restaurant in the bird park. Go to reptile park first, then bird park. We took our girls when they were 21 and 23 and they loved it as much as we did. You can handle some of the reptiles and birds, so it will be a magical trip for your child. Both parks are well-maintained, you will be impressed. Watch out for the cockatoo that nips the button off the top of your baseball cap! Take your camera!!!
If. on a different trip, you go to the Garuda Wishnu Cultural Park with the huge statue bust of Vishnu you may see the snake guys there who will let you handle a large snake and take pictures. Believe me, the sensation of draping a 35kg snake across your shoulders and feeling the muscles work under the silky flesh is amazing!
