Just back yesterday from a 7 day stay at the Bali Hai Resort in Tuban.

Flying Gauruda from Adelaide was fine, recently went with Air Paradise which I think is better, but nothing wrong with Gaurudas service or airline. Fever Pitch was the movie, on flight there and back!

Customs was easy, but very long as a few planes had landed at once, paid VOA with Aussie dollars no problems, handed over a $50 and got change back in rupiah, ended up costing around $32.00 each for VOA.

Bali Hai Resort was excellent, stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, fruit basket, flowers, king size bed, couldn't fault, hotel, breakfast was excellent, stuffed ourselves stupid every morning, service was good, booked one tour through hotel, others were booked on the street.

Restaurants we ate at were, SA Cafe in Tuban, Mini Seafood on Kartika Plaza, Hard Rock Cafe, Stadium Cafe on Kartika Plaza, Langsam Cafe at Jimbaran Bay and on the Bounty Cruise. All were excellent, myself and my partner did not take any anti bali belly tablets and were fine the whole trip until the last day my b/f had prawns at Jimbaran which he said were excellent, but afterwards they did not agree with him, not too bad, just a few rushed trips to the loo, but all good.

White Water Rafting we paid 570,000 ($77.00) rupiah for the two of us, great fun, but the stairs!!! I know now what everyone goes on about, boy you really need that buffet lunch after doing all of them!

Waterbom park was great as normal, got a 15% voucher from guy on street, while walking there cost about $22.00 each I think.

Bought enough DVD's and PS2 games to sink a ship I think about 300 between us, most were bought from Softcomps and MC Shop (Helgies) haven't checked them all yet, but all the new releases are out, Charlie & Cho Factory (ok quality, not the best) War of the Worlds, Amityville Horror, Fab Four, Monster in Law, flight of the phoenix, Batman Begins, Layer Cake, Kicking & Screaming, and tonnes more, new ones come out every day, always pays to check them in the shop if you have time, easy to do, but a few I found, such as, Millions - didn't load at all, The Island was terrible quality - unwatchable wern't worth getting.

If your a big fan of the bakery as I am, Bread Talk is the place to go, most items are under $1.00 each and the quaility is excellent, new product brought out all the time, This is one of the busiest places at Discovery Mall.

Went to see the Monkeys at Monkey Forest, also went to Temple & Tanah Lot on the same tour, booked at Bali Hai cost 125,000 ($17.00) each Monkeys can be a bit agressive with the food, so if you have children I'd advise not getting food to give to them, as the bigs ones are quick to jump all over you to get at the food.

Bali Deli - Seminyak, was good, bought some Bali Moon Liquor here, and some chocolates, didn't see any vegemite tho :) Taxi from Waterbom to bali deli cost about 12,000 rupiah.

Denpasar, taxi there cost us about 35,000, taxi back only cost 27,000, both in blue bird taxi's. shopping was okay, not the greatest, now that bali had discovery mall not so much of a need to go out there, but always nice to check out something different.

Didn't buy too much on the street markets, some mens watches for about 40,000, ladies paul frank watch from fixed price stall near matihari for 30,000, oakleys & ray bans for about 40,000.

Back to reality now, no more sun and sand, until summer arrives here at least.

Happy travels to all
